Abhishek Bachan and Aishwarya Rai are not only acting in Mani Ratnam's ‘Raavana’ together, the duo will also sing a song for the film.
A R Rahman, who has previously composed tunes for Mani Ratnam’s shelved project ‘Lajjo’, is using those very tunes for ‘Raavana’ now.
What went wrong with ‘Lajjo’ is not clear, but the movie had a stunning cast of Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor paired opposite each other for the first time. However, the project was abandoned
There was one song in ‘Lajjo’ which Rahman wanted Kareena and Aamir to sing. But since the movie got scrapped, Rahman is now using that song for ‘Raavana’ and will get Ash and Abhi to sing.
That Aishwarya is learning Carnatic music for this film is an old story now, as she plays a singer in this flick. And, on the other hand, hubby dear Abhishek too has an experience of singing while he did some rapping for Bluffmaster title track. So the idea of making both of them sing can be the USP for the film.
‘Raavana’ is a big film by Mani Ratnam and he is repeating his favourite actors after the successful Guru . The shooting of the film is in progress. The husband-wife duo has just finished their Kochi leg of shooting and the crew has now moved to Ooty.
The movie is being made both in Tamil and Hindi language. In the Tamil version Vikram is paired opposite Aishwarya.

In anothe rexample of what Indian officials are repeatedly desceibe as pakistan dupilicity the country's Hgh Commissioner in New Delhi Shahid Malik said on Wednesday that Jaish-e-Mohammed chief Maulana Masood Azhar is not under house arrest, thereby implying that Pakistan is not aware of the jehadi leader's whereabouts. This statement made during the course of a TV interview turns on its head another statement made earlier by Pakistan defence minister Chaudhary Mukhtar Ahmed that Azhar was in police custody.
"We are looking for him. He is not under house arrest. As far as I know, it (news reports of Azhar's house arrest) is wrong. He is not in Pakistan...We don't know where he is,'' said Malik in response to a question on why Pakistan had not handed him over to India till now. Azhar was one of the three terrorists who had been released to ensure the safety of passengers in the Kandahar hijacking case.
The shift on Azhar coincided with clear signs of Pakistan's defiant denial about its responsibility for the terror attack, with the High Commissioner disregarding Kasab's father owning up the terrorist, and bluntly ruling out Indian agencies being given access to Zaki-ur-Rahman Lakhvi, the Lashkar mastermind of the Mumbai massacre.
Malik made these remarks even as foreign minister Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday again asked Pakistan to crack down on terrorists and hand over fugitives to India.
Malik also denied having received any letter from arrested terrorist Mohammad Ajmal Kasab. The police in Mumbai had said earlier that Kasab had written to the Pakistan High Commission admitting that he was a Pakistani. "Please don't give too much importance to newspaper reports. No letter has been delivered to me or to the (Pak) High Commission,'' stated Malik. He also set aside media reports about Kasab's father in Pakistan accepting that he was a Pakistani saying, "We need something which is incontrovertible and which cannot be challenged in a court of law.''
Malik said Pakistan was also not contemplating giving access to Zaki-ur-Rahman Lakhvi, the alleged mastermind of the Mumbai attacks, to FBI for investigation. "At the moment we are not contemplating it...Please allow us to carry forward the process of investigation and see whether there is any merit in involving others or not,'' he stated.
As Malik made these remarks, defence minister Mukhtar Ahmed said in Pakistan on Wednesday that Jamat-ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed cannot be tried in a court of law because there was not enough evidence against him. He said that this was because India had not shared any evidence with Pakistan.
The High Commissioner, who seemed to be in a denial mode, also said Dawood Ibrahim, underworld don and main accused in the 1993 Mumbai blasts, was also not in Pakistan as claimed by New Delhi. "Fact of the matter is that he is not in Pakistan,'' said Malik. For good measure, he added that the ISI too has no links with LeT.
Meanwhile, foreign minister Pranab Mukherjee on Wednesday reiterated India's demand that Pakistan hand over 40 fugitives to New Delhi and that Pakistan crack down on terrorists. "We expect Pakistan to act as per their own commitment given by two Presidents. I told them that mere intention or expression of intent to act is not adequate....if that is not followed by action,'' Mukherjee told reporters.
Mukherjee said Pakistan is "obliged'' to implement the UN Security Council resolution declaring Jamaat-ud-Dawa, a front of Lashkar-e-Taiba, as a terror outfit

Microsoft (NSDQ: MSFT) has released an out-of-band security update, MS08-078, to fix a vulnerability in its Internet Explorer Web browser that's being actively exploited. "At this time, we are aware only of attacks that attempt to use this vulnerability against Windows Internet Explorer 7," said Christopher Budd, Microsoft security response communications lead, in an e-mailed statement. "Our investigation of these attacks so far has verified that they are not successful against customers who have applied the security update. MS08-078 has a maximum severity rating of Critical for all versions of Internet Explorer." Nonetheless, Microsoft lists Internet Explorer 5.01, 6, and 7 as affected software in its Security Bulletin. It also says separately, in the FAQ section, that Internet Explorer 8 Beta 2 is affected.
The vulnerability can be exploited through JavaScript code posted on malicious Web sites. Internet Explorer users may be redirected to these sites through hacked legitimate sites. If the malicious code is successful, it silently downloads malware onto the victim's computer.
Microsoft typically releases software patches, referred to as Security Bulletins, on the second Tuesday of every month. When critical vulnerabilities emerge and are actively exploited, Microsoft often issues a patch as soon as it's ready.
The last such out-of-band patch, Microsoft Security Bulletin MS08-067, was released on Oct. 23. It addressed a vulnerability in Windows Server service that affected all currently supported versions of Windows. That vulnerability allowed an attacker to take over affected computers remotely.
When Microsoft issued its out-of-band patch in October, it cited the vulnerability's potential "wormability" -- meaning the hole could be exploited on a massive scale using self-copying malware -- as a reason for its action.
But MS08-078 isn't wormable. "[That] shows that the wormability of a vulnerability is no longer a good indicator of the seriousness of a threat and that these Web-based threats are now much more dangerous than network worms," said Roel Schouwenberg, senior antivirus researcher for Kaspersky Lab, Americas, in an e-mailed statement.
Indeed, Microsoft security researchers estimated that as many as 1 in 500 users of Internet Explorer could have been exposed to malware attempting to exploit the flaw.
"The browser flaw had been disclosed roughly one week ago as a zero-day vulnerability, and active exploits have been around the Internet for that timeframe as well," Qualys CTO Wolfgang Kandek said in an e-mailed statement. "The workarounds provided by Microsoft were very technical and quite cumbersome to implement, making it imperative for Microsoft to release a fix as quickly as possible."
Kandek suggests that Microsoft is at a disadvantage in updating Internet Explorer because its browser doesn't have a built-in update mechanism like other browser makers. Mozilla, for instance, just released Firefox 3.05 to Firefox users through its auto-update system.
Microsoft is urging users of IE to test and deploy this update as soon as possible.
