Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board has announced the results of SSC Exam July 2008 and HSC Exam July 2008. GSEB examination (Conducting Main and Supplementary public examinations every year in March and October, for SSC (Standard 10) and HSC (Standard 12).
Vidyasagar University announce the Results for BA, B.Sc. and B.Com Graduate courses today at 1 PM. This is as per the notification available on the home page of the Vidyasagar Universities website.

The three boards met in Mumbai to discuss the rules and regulations of the tournament, which is due to be staged in India in October and competed for by the leading eight Twenty20 domestic teams in the world.
The agreement effectively ends England's hopes of staging a rival Champions League competition and will almost certainly force the England and Wales Cricket Board to reach agreement with India or face exclusion from the Champions League riches.
The Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) in India have already stated they have no objection to Middlesex, the Twenty20 Cup winners, from entering the Champions League but are not prepared to accept finalists Kent because of their Indian Cricket League players Justin Kemp and Azhar Mahmood.
England had hoped to organise a rival competition in Abu Dhabi, financed by the Abu Dhabi royal family, and persuade Australia and South Africa to join their competition.
But today's announcement leaves the ECB facing frantic negotiations with India to ensure their clubs have a presence in the competition, which will be staged between Sept 29 and Oct 8 with eight teams competing for a prize pool of six million US dollars.
Lalit Modi, chairman and commissioner of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and BCCI vice-president, said: "The success of the IPL has undoubtedly captured the imagination of cricket supporters from around the world.
"The Champions Twenty20 League, which will be played by (the) eight best teams from the world which have earned their place through their domestic competitions, provides a new and exciting pinnacle for club championships across the world.
"It will provide teams with the opportunity to earn the title of World Club Champions in a format which will be eagerly anticipated by spectators and players alike. I keenly look forward to the inaugural season of the Champions Twenty20 League in September/October 2008."
The inaugural tournament will initially feature eight teams who will play 15 matches but that number will increase to 12 teams playing 23 matches in 2009.
The eight teams will be divided into two groups of four teams each with the top two teams from each group qualifying for the semi-finals.
James Sutherland, Cricket Australia's chief executive, said: "This fantastic new competition gives our best state cricketers, and their equivalents in other competitions, a chance to pit their skills against champions from other countries.
"I'm also delighted that the benefits of this global event will flow down to state level and enhance cricket at grass-roots level.
"I'm certain it will add a whole new dimension to our own Twenty20 interstate competition and globally, will help us all in winning new fans for cricket around the world."
Gerald Majola, Cricket South Africa's (CSA) chief executive, also welcomed the agreement, saying: "The Champions Twenty20 League is an idea whose time has come.
"I'm certain this competition will significantly enhance the international stature of domestic cricket and pave the way for greater involvement of cricketers, right from the club, province, state and county through to the national and international arenas.
"CSA is proud to be associated with this initiative and we are sure that this event will ignite the passion of cricket lovers the world over, quite along the lines of what we had experienced with both our current Standard Bank Pro20 and the recently held inaugural ICC Twenty20 World Cup held in South Africa last September."

‘Voice of India’ singing contest winner Ishmeet Singh Tuesday died under mysterious circumstances by “drowning” in a swimming pool in Male, the capital of the Maldives.
The 19-year-old singer hailing from a middle-class of this industrial city of Punjab had gone to Maldives for a promotional event with the music company with which he had a contract.
Relatives at his residence here said the family was informed telephonically by the music company officials that Ishmeet died while swimming in a hotel pool in the Maldives.
Relatives, friends and admirers of the singer made a beeline to his house even as his shocked parents tried to come to terms with the untimely tragedy. A pall of gloom descended on the locality.
The singer left here Tuesday morning for Maldives from Mumbai.
Ishmeet had Nov 26 last year won the ‘Voice of India’ singing contest, pipping his closest rival Harshit from Uttar Pradesh in a keen contest. He was given the winner’s trophy by melody queen Lata Mangeshkar.
Supporters of the singer voted heavily for him from Punjab during the finals of the contest. Even though Harshit led the votes tally in most regions of the country, the final count went in Ishmeet’s favour due to heavy voting from Punjab.
“He was like a brother to me. I cannot even comment on what has happened. I cannot believe that he is no longer with us,” fellow contestant Harshit told a TV news channel.

South India’s highest paid actress Nayanthara Thursday filed a police complaint alleging that her rivals are circulating a fake MMS clip reportedly showing her in a compromising pose with Tamil actor Simbu, sources said. “This is the work of rivals jealous of my fame and bankability on the eve of the August release of ‘Kuselan’ and ‘Sathyam,’ both big budget ventures,” the actress was quoted as saying.
Nayanthara was rumoured to be romantically linked Shimbu but now maintains that she has a “friendly relationship” with him, sources close to the actress said.
According to sources, the allegedly morphed clip originated in Tiruchirappalli Sunday and has been widely circulated since then.
Earlier, actresses Trisha, Jyothika and Namitha have been victims of such fake MMS clips, according to industry sources.

Terrorism is a global issue and varied film-makers across the globe continue to make movies/documentaries/short films that expose the ghastly face and effects of terrorism. Apoorva Lakhia charters that path as well in MISSION ISTAANBUL.
In MISSION ISTAANBUL, there's an Osama replica, bunkers in Afghanistan where he is supposedly hiding, also a television channel that telecasts exclusive footage from the terrorists [its called Al Johara here], a George Bush lookalike… Lakhia seems to have incorporated snippets and vignettes from real-life to celluloid in an effort to make the goings-on relatable and believable.
ut, somewhere in between, the fight against terrorism becomes too Bollywoodish as the two heroes eliminate an entire army of terrorists and put an end to the nefarious activities of a TV channel. And that's difficult to gulp!
Perhaps, Lakhia's intentions are right, to make a hard-hitting film that marries realism and fiction beautifully, but the writing indulges in too many cinematic liberties and that's precisely why MISSION ISTAANBUL goes off target.
However, lovers of action fares are in for a treat, since the stunts, action and chase sequences in MISSION ISTAANBUL are truly captivating. Sure, a few sequences aren't for the faint-hearted, but you can't help but put your hands together for these sequences and the men behind those death-defying stunts.
All said, MISSION ISTAANBUL goes off target!
Vikas [Zayed Khan] is one of the most promising journalists in the country. Owais [Suniel Shetty], who heads a controversial Istanbul-based news channel Al Johara, makes him an offer to head the channel. This offer comes at a time when Vikas is undergoing a divorce with his wife Anjali [Shriya Saran].
But little does Vikas know that the decision will change his life forever. Owais is killed and Turkish commando Rizwan [Vivek Oberoi] tells Vikas that if he decides to quit as well, he would be bumped off as well. MISSION ISTAANBUL unravels at a feverish pace and that's most important for a thriller. The story travels from India to Turkey to Afghanistan to Turkey again, in the very first hour. The characters are well-established, the script is laced with incidents that seem straight out of newspapers. Coupled with Lakhia's execution, top notch cinematography and stylish action, the film begins to grow as reel after reel unspools.
But, alas, the film goes for a toss in the second hour. Things actually stagnate as the two heroes turn into super-heroes and combat an army of villains on land, sea and air. By the way, they don't get bruised even once! Lakhia and writer Suresh Nair seem to have substituted action for content and that's the most glaring flaw. In fact, you feel that Lakhia and Nair must've decided to go on a vacation in the second hour, entrusting the responsibility on the stunt directors to conclude the second hour.
There's not much scope for music in the film, but in terms of composition, just one track -- 'Jo Gumshuda' -- is easy on your ears. The Abhishek Bachchan track is such a waste. Even the tune is completely forgettable. Gururaj R.J.'s cinematography is top notch. Action, as mentioned earlier, is the hallmark of the enterprise.
Both Vivek and Zayed come up with competent performances. Vivek does a fine job, essaying his part with ease. But why does he sport a smirk on his face most of the times? The director could've avoided that! Zayed is equally charged. In fact, you witness a new Zayed in this film, the renewed confidence shows. Shriya Saran is wasted. Shweta Bhardwaj does well in stunts, but wears one expression all through.
Suniel Shetty [sp. app.] is as usual. Nikitin Dheer is effective. First JODHAA AKBAR, now MISSION ISTAANBUL, this boy's going from strength to strength. Shabbir Ahluwalia is another talent that needs to be tapped by film-makers. He's very good!
On the whole, MISSION ISTAANBUL rests on action and only action to salvage the show. But that's not enough. At the box-office, this mission won't work!
David Dhawan and Priyadarshan triggered off a trend -- of making brainless comedies -- and thus began a wave of leave-your-brains-at-home laughathons. Inspired by the success of these ha-ha-he-he fares, every second film-maker decided to join the bandwagon for that elusive Hit. But, of late, no-brainer comedies have reached a saturation point.
Ganesh Acharya's MONEY HAI TO HONEY HAI actually tests the patience of the viewer. Fine, you don't expect a riveting storyline from a film of this genre, but you definitely expect laughs, don't you? You expect to be entertained, don't you? Alas, what you get to see is definitely not good, not even bad, it's verrry boring!
In his debut film SWAMI, Ganesh Acharya proved that he knows his job well, but what is this? How did the makers okay the script [writer: Muazzam Beg] in the first place? What did the actors see in this script? Did they want to be a part of a mini-multistarrer for the heck of it?
MONEY HAI TO HONEY HAI is like flying in an aircraft without a pilot. You don't know where it's headed!
MONEY HAI TO HONEY HAI deals with six characters: Bobby [Govinda] is a happy go lucky guy, who runs away from home to prove himself. Lalabhai [Manoj Bajpayee] becomes wealthy, but he's back on the road as his business fails and he loses all his money. Gaurav [Aftab Shivdasani], a copywriter, is fired from his job. Manik [Upen Patel] is a struggling model who sleeps with a middle-aged fashion designer [Archana Puransingh], hoping to make it big. Ashima [Hansika] is a successful TV star, but she's not happy with her career and is desperate to do films as the lead heroine. Shruti [Celina Jaitley] is a struggling dress designer.
One fine day, they all get an SMS informing them that they are the owners of a 1,000 crore company. However, their happiness does not last long for the lawyer reveals that there's a loan of 1,200 crore on the company and they must repay it and until the loan is repaid, they would be kept under house arrest.
The story sounds interesting on paper, but on celluloid, it's non-existent. Prem Chopra picks up random cellphone numbers and makes them calls. He wants them to inherit his fortune. But the entire first hour is devoted to why they became losers. It's only at the interval point that you expect the story to begin. But does it take off? Nope!
Instead of sticking to the core issue, it meanders into meaningless sub-plots, which only add to the boredom. The finale at the fashion show [well choreographed by Achala Sachdev] is interesting, but by then you're exhausted and want the movie to end.
The writer of this film is the biggest culprit. The writing touches a new low with this film. Ganesh Acharya tries to pack in funny sequences, but just two bring a smile -- the Archana Puransingh-Upen Patel track and Govinda's encounter with a Vijay Mallya lookalike, who is surrounded by a bevy of beauties.
The songs [music: Nitin Arora, Soni Chandi] too show up without any valid reason whatsoever, although a few songsare tuneful and well choreographed.
Now to the performances! Govinda looks too old for his part. The role demanded a 20 + actor and Govinda looks completely out of place here. The age shows! Imagine, he calls Jawed Sheikh his father and Ketaki Dave his mother!!!! Besides, why is behaving so kool by speaking in English? It looks fake!
You feel sad to watch an actor of the calibre of Manoj Bajpayee being reduced to absolute nothing. Is he the same actor who acted in SATYA? And ZUBEIDAA, PINJAR and 1971? Aftab Shivdasani looks right for the part, but he hardly gets any scenes. Upen Patel does a good job and his scenes are truly funny.
Hansika goes over the top. Celina Jaitley gets no scope either. Archana Puransingh, besides Upen, provides a few laughs. She's excellent. Prem Chopra is wasted. Ravi Kishan too doesn't impress.
On the whole, MONEY HAI TO HONEY HAI is a poor show. At the box-office, a damp squib!
Bollywood’s candylicious couple Kareena Kapoor- Saif Ali Khan is at it again! Yes the two have had yet another one of theirs famous engaging lovers’ spats on the sets of Sajid Nadiadwala's ‘Kambakht Ishq’ and this time too it ensured that the tongues are left wagging.
The reason for the tiff remains the same puff-puff possessive nature of Saif. But this time around the saucy plot has some lip smacking masala as the nawab’s blood is boiling over to an ‘inappropriate kiss’ given by Bebo to macho man Sylvester Stallone.
Although, the now famous kiss was a just a peck on the actor’s cheek, we are told that the type of hype it has got is nothing less than the famous Ronaldo and Bipasha lippy controversy sans the lips of course!
Well, the story goes like this… the two love birds, who till some time back were overjoyed that they were working in close proximity in LA, were seen doing tu tu mein mein over Bebo ‘childlike act’.
Sources tell us that in his attempt to stay close to his lady love, Saif was accompanying Bebo everyday to the sets and the grapevine has it that the two just could not stop getting up close and personal. But all this changed the day Stallone entered the sets – he is doing a cameo in the movie. And, dear Bebo just could not curtail her happiness and behaved like a school girl while the Hollywood hunk was around.
Obviously, Saif did not like the fact that his lady love was drooling over someone else, but things got out of hand when he saw Bebo kissing Stallone after they completed a sequence in which he saves her from a messy situation.
It seems the Kapoor babe was so overwhelmed by the macho man and his antics that she had to show her appreciation and what better way to do that than a cutie little kiss.
And pat, Saif had a long face. A news daily even eavesdrop we guess as they wrote, ‘Saif took Kareena into a corner. She was overheard telling him that she simply did what was asked of her. She also told Saif that she'd never complain if he did a kissing scene with his leading ladies. Then at one point, she got very irritated and snapped that he shouldn't come on her sets if he couldn't deal with her intimate scenes with other heroes. They continued to argue till Saif walked out in a huff".
But, this time too, like all their fights the two soon sorted out their jhagda and went back to their lovey dovy ways.
Hmmm…all there is to say is that ‘too much of intimacy leads to contempt’.

Singh Is Kinng, the year's most anticipated romantic comedy, revolves around a gang of dreaded criminals, who are transformed by a good man and his selfless love for a pretty girl...
Lakhan Singh aka Lucky (Javed Jafferi) is the 'kinng' of the Australian underworld (known as the Gang Of Punjab) accompanied by seven associates. Far away, in a small village in Punjab, where Lucky was born, there exists someone more notorious than Lucky - Happy Singh (Akshay Kumar). The village is fed up of his magnanimity, which has resulted in several disastrous situations. Out of desperation, it is decided to send him on a long trip (that will keep him out of the village for a while) to bring back Lucky, whose despicable deeds, were maligning the image of the village in Australia. A happy-go-lucky Happy Singh, as usual, takes his mission a bit too seriously!
En route to Australia, he meets Sonia (Katrina Kaif) with whom he falls in love. After a series of comic misadventures in Australia, Happy is left with no money or shelter. He finds warmth and affection in an elderly lady (Kirron Kher). She helps him meet Lucky, who is taken aback by Happy's mission to take him back to the village. But in a strange turn of events, an attempt on Lucky's life is foiled by a well-intentioned Happy, who fights off the attackers risking his own life.
But as luck would have it, post the hilarious fight, Lucky Singh lands up paralyzed in the hospital, and what's more, his angry gestures are mistaken as his desire to have Happy as the new 'Kinng' until Lucky recuperates!
Before taking over, Happy pays a visit to his elderly lady who had helped him retrieve Lucky.
She entrusts him with a task that brings Happy closer to Sonia. The series of confusion, chaos and comic misunderstandings result in havoc, redemption and an accidental wedding!
Singh Is Kinng marks Akshay Kumar's re-entry into the comedy minefield, supported by an able ensemble cast. With plenty of romance, chuckles, laugh-aloud moments and world music, it promises to be one of the most appealing and compelling motion pictures of 2008.

Kismat Konnection is one of the most awaited films this season and there is lots of hype surrounding it. However, it happens quite frequently that many hyped movies turn out to be big disappointments such as Tashan, Love Story 2050, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic,etc. Fortunately, this is not the case with Kismat Konnection. It`s not just all hype and no substance but a movie with a soul that will immediately connect with the audience.
Story:
The basic plot of the movie revolves around Raj Malhotra (Shahid Kapoor) (doesn`t the name sound too SRKish?…but the film is not as cliched as the name sounds, thankfullysmiling smiley, an architect, who was touted as the next BIG thing during his college days…be it academics,sports,dramatics…he was an all-rounder and his friends had made a TIME magazine cover with Raj`s face on it. Despite his potential and abilities, Raj failed to make it big in life and after 5 years of his graduation he is still not able to achieve success in his life because luck never supported him. Something or the other always goes wrong with him…when he has to wake up at the morning, his alarm clock doesn`t ring, when he is about to be appointed as an architect, the boss of the contracting company dies and so on. Raj tries his luck once again to be appointed for a shopping mall construction project by Mr.Gill (Om Puri) but luck once again betrays him when an old school friend (Manoj Joshi) of his attempts to take away the contract from Raj`s hands and secure it for himself. A disappointed Raj one night sees an advertisment on the television which claims to provide the solution to everyone`s problems in life. The advertisment states that anyone who contacts Haseena Bano Jaan (Juhi Chawla) will be freed from all his worries forever. So, Raj obviously notes down her address and drops in at her premises. Haseena Bano Jaan states that there is a force that is his lucky charm and would remove all his problems but he has to recognize that ’force’. Raj meets Priya (Vidya Balan) several times…once when his car is about to collide with hers…or at the ATM card machine spot or at a bar. Each time he meets her, things turn out to be in his favour and miracles take place with him. He manages to secure a construction contract and also manages to impress Mr.Gill, when it seems impossible to him. It is then when he realizes that Priya is that force that is his lucky charm. However, there are two problems; Priya runs an old citizens hospital and Gill`s shopping mall is constructed at the same place as the hospital and secondly, Priya is about to get married within a few days and Raj won`t have his lucky charm for very long, with him. Plus, Raj also realises by then that he is in love with Priya.
Music:
The soundtrack composed by Pritam is another strong point. My favourite songs from the movie are Aai Paapi, Bakhuda Tum Hi Ho, Sohni and Move Your Body (which appears during the end credits). Other than that, the camerawork of the movie si fantastic. Most of the movie has been shot in Canada and it has been shot so beautifully that I felt like going on a vacation there smiling smiley The film carries a very stylish look but thank God that the story didn`t suffer due to this style…the impact of the movie only enhanced with it.
Performances:
Performances are also top-notch. Shahid Kapoor, even though looks quite young (he can`t help it smiling smiley has undoubtedly matured as an actor and is a complete natural. Vidya Balan is the best thing that has happened to Bollywood since last three years. She is one of the most talented actresses today. Katrina Kaif, Priyanka Chopra, Lara Dutta, etc. maybe some of the top actresses today but not any of them is half as talented as Vidya, when it comes to acting. Vidya almost instantly clicks with the audience and the ease with which she performs makes it a treat to watch her act. She also looks amazingly gorgeous, throughout.
Vishal Malhotra who played Shahid`s best friend in Ishq Vishk is back with Shahid once again and does a fantastic job, complementing Shahid throughout and gives a spontaneous performance. Juhi Chawla does something quite different in the role of a numerologist (a la Sunita Menon) and manages to entertain in her special appearance.The surprise factor of the movie is Himani Shivpuri as Om Puri`s wife. For the first time, she does not irritate but actually makes you laugh, thanks to her perfect comic timing, this time around. You will just love her (loved her dialogue, ’’first,reduce your tone”). Om Puri, Boman Irani and others also do a fine job.
Verdict:
On the whole, Kismat Konnection is a complete family entertainer which is sure to lure everyone`s hearts and do well at the box-office too. You should definitely give this one a watch.

The centres - Sankethika Vidya Bhavan, Masab Tank, Government Institute of Printing Technology, East Marredpally in twin cities, Government Polytechnic for Women, Gujjanagundla, Guntur, Government Polytechnic, Kancharapalem, Visakhapatnam, Government Polytechnic, Ring Road, opposite Stella College of Vijayawada, Government Polytechnic, M.G.M. Allowing a batch of writ petitions, Mr Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar quashed a state Government Order (GO) dated, March 6, 2008, for filling up 65 temporary vacancies of motor vehicle inspectors. ”The state government’s move to appoint 65 mechanical engineering graduates as temporary Motor Vehicle Inspectors was ”impermissible”, the judge observed.

Vijji (Nitin) is an educated guy with a middle class family tag in his background. His father (Tanikella Bharani) has a dream to build an elegant house in his plot for his family. The Punjab School Education Board came into being under an Act of Legislation in 1969, amended in 1987, 2000 and 2005.
Examination Wing
This wing is headed by the Controller of Examinations assisted by Deputy Secretaries and Assistant Secretaries. The responsibility of this wing is to conduct the Matriculation and +2 examinations, to get evaluate the answer-books and to declare results and to issue certificates etc.. This wing supervise about 4000 examination centers all over the state. To ensure copying free conduct of examinations different flying squads headed by D.E.O. and other officers of Board and Education Department are deputed to check the copying. To stop the outside interference help of police is sought and section 144 of Cr. P. C. is also activated.
For a while now in Bollywood cinema, the growth of the multiplex concept has resulted in the arrival of genre films. Hence, we now have sci-fi, thrillers, suspense, children’s cinema, teen-comedies, love stories etc - and not all rolled into one.
Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na is a genre film. A simple, sweet, teen-comedy that marks the debut of Aamir Khan’s nephew Imran Khan. Unlike his uncle’s debut in the classic QSQT, which had women across India writing love notes to Aamir in their blood, Imran’s beginning will probably not generate THAT sort of frenzy.
However, comparisons are unfair and while Imran Khan lacks the star presence of his uncle or the likes of Hrithik Roshan, he does well in a film that will be remembered and appreciated for its freshness, earnestness and honesty.
Imran in numerous interviews has stated that Jaane Tu was not his film, but a group film. And the young man is absolutely right in crediting his co-actors. It is a group film about a group of college kids and the typical group dynamics that goes with that strange territory of high-school or college.
Jai Singh Rathore (Imran Khan), Aditi (Genelia), Jignesh Patel (Nirav Mehta), Sandhya (Aliskha Varde), Shaleen (Sughanda) and Rotlu (Karan) are part of the college gang in focus.
Jai and Aditi are best friends within the group. Rotlu likes Aditi. Sandhya likes Jai. But, Jai and Aditi like each other - in that platonic sort of way. Given the tagline of the film asks us when do we know it’s love, the plot is a real no-brainer. In a nutshell, it traces the journey of Jai and Aditi discovering that they’re actually in love.
The end is no surprise, but in this case it’s the means to arriving at the end that makes Jaane Tu such a refreshing watch. The characters are real, believable and endearing. And what a relief that they actually look their age!
Abbas Tyrewala’s directorial debut and the high-production values make the film easy on the eye and immensely watchable. Smart lines delivered with remarkable effortlessness by all the actors result in a real-like film that has focused on the more important elements such as casting, dialogues and details allowing us to overlook even crucial factors such as script and narration.
There’s no point in over-analysing a film like Jaane Tu as it demonstrates no wannabe aspirations of cinematic greatness. It’s honest in its appeal as it clearly wants to entertain and leave the viewer with a bit of nostalgia and a healthy feeling of light-heartedness that accompanies college films.
Imran Khan’s debut is an honorable one, but far from a spectacular one. He will fit right into the shoes of younger characters that his uncle Aamir may have to pass, but as for his depth as an actor, he’s probably still a few yards away from the deep end.
While Jaane Tu is Imran’s debut vehicle, it is really Genelia who steals the show. The actress is a real livewire on screen and conveys those annoying feelings of jealousy, confusion, irritability and fake happiness without any problem.
Within the gang, who sport very Bombay nicknames such as Rats (Jai), Meow (Aditi), Bombs (Sandhya), Jiggy (Jignesh), the guys fare much better than the girls. Jiggy delights as the Gujju while Rotlu and Bombs together are smashing as the couple who discover each other as soul mates when left solo by their crushes, Jai and Aditi.
Supporting cast members like Ratna Pathak Shah as Jai’s mum, Paresh Rawal as the police inspector, Naseeruddin Shah, as Jai’s dead Rajput father who speaks from his portrait hold, fort magnificently.
Even the sub-plot of Jai’s rite of passage as a true male Rathore from Ranjhore family by fulfilling three conditions - beating up a person, spending time in jail and riding a horse - is largely saved and made palatable by way of the safe casting of the Shahs and Arbaaz and Sohail Khan, who appear as Rathore boys in the guise of dancing cowboys.
A. R. Rahman’s music is used suitably bearing the tone and theme of the film. Although his Tu Bole Main Boloon sounded eerily reminiscent of the “You Say Tomato, I Say Tomatoe” song one hummed as a child.
Sure, there are a few loose ends. Like what does Ratna Pathak Shah do other than read books, fight with policemen and talk to her dead husband? Or how does Jai get away without being shot after breaking through airport controls? But, it’s all minor within the big picture.
Jaane Tu gets every aspect of human relationships right. Brother-sister through Aditi and her brother Amit, platonic friends through Aditi and Jai and parent-child through all the characters.
Perhaps the narrative could have been a little shorter and a few chapters from the gang’s life could have been cut out, but chances are, you’ll leave the cinema happy to have hung out with Genelia’s gang, than not.
Get ready for a sneak-peek into the future as Harry Baweja is all set to take you for a ride in his time machine. Yes, we are talking about the film, Love Story 2050, which is a sci-fi movie, due for release on 4th July 2008. The producer of the film is Pammi Baweja, while the story is written by Harry Baweja himself. The music of the film has been given by none other than the music king, Anu Malik. The exuberant start cast includes debutant Harman Baweja, Priyanka Chopra, Boman Irani, Archana Puran Singh, Harsh Vasisht, Mehezabeen Sarela, Rachit Trehan and Karan Verma.
The film is about a young boy named Karan, who believes in living life on his own terms and conditions, without any rules. On the other hand, Sana (Priyanka Chopra) is a coy girl, who lives life by the rules. This gives rise to a magical love story between the two. Then we have Karan’s uncle, Dr Yatinder Khanna (Boman Irani), an eccentric scientist who has toiled for years to create the biggest invention of his life, a time machine. As the time machine finally becomes functional, Sana expresses her wish to travel to Mumbai in future.
With this, the three of them, along with Rahul and Thea (Sana’s younger brother and sister), land in Mumbai in the year 2050. To their amazement, the face of the city has been completely transformed by soaring 200-storied sky-scraper buildings, flying cars, sky rails and extensive application of robotics. However, following a series of twist and turns, Karan finds himself separated from Sana. In her quest to find his love, OT, a femme robot and Boo, a robotic teddy bear, play distinct roles in bringing them together.
Giving yet another twist in the story is Dr. Hoshi, a demigod of the future, who threatens OT and Boo, preventing them from helping Karan. This is followed by a struggle, which will finally decide Karan’s destiny. So, if you want to know, whether Karan is finally able to win his love and move back in time, don’t miss the high action, science thriller in the theatres near you. For now, we can just hope that the Indian audience appreciates the efforts of Baweja’s, who have tried to serve something new & fresh, instead of the stale masala movies of the past.

Vikas [Zayed Khan] is one of the most promising journalists in the country. Owais [Suniel Shetty], who heads a controversial Istanbul-based news channel Al Johara, makes him an offer to head the channel. This offer comes at a time when Vikas is undergoing a divorce with his wife Anjali [Shriya Saran].
There's not much scope for music in the film, but in terms of composition, just one track -- 'Jo Gumshuda' -- is easy on your ears. The Abhishek Bachchan track is such a waste. Even the tune is completely forgettable. Gururaj R.J.'s cinematography is top notch. Action, as mentioned earlier, is the hallmark of the enterprise.
